• Doing a social campaign using a hashtag. Can I have Facebook, Twitter and Instagram show together in the same widget?

  • Yes, it is possible to display a feed from each of the social media plugins within the same widget.

To do this just apply the shortcode for each feed directly following one another in the order desired for display within the same text widget as follows:

    [custom-facebook-feed]
    [instagram-feed]
    [custom-twitter-feeds hashtag=”#awesome”]

However, having all three social plugins appear within a single feed would not be possible.

Also, the feature or ability to use or filter content within a feed by hashtag requires the Pro version of the plugin for both the Custom Facebook Feed and Instagram Feed but not for the Custom Twitter Feeds plugin. (Shown above).

When I use your shortcodes for Instagram and Twitter, the shortcodes themselves display instead of the actual posts.

    Hey Slabadie,

If you have them entered as shown above as shortcode in the text section of the page and/or text widget then this should not be happening. Does the Custom Facebook Feed shortcode show as text as well or is that being presented as a feed?

Let me know and we can always dig deeper. It is possible this might just be improper placement of shortcode on the page setup.

Just a note that you’d need to make sure you have our Instagram and Twitter plugins installed and activated in order for those shortcodes to work.

Your plugins were not installed, they are now. I am however getting an error message from the twitter plugin after installing the tokens.

An error has occurred with your feed.
    No Tweets returned
The error response from the Twitter API is the following:
    Error number: 25
    Message: Query parameters are missing.

Also wondering why you allow the use of a hashtag with twitter but have to purchase pro for facebook and instagram.

    Hey slabadie,

Sorry that you are having some trouble. I normally take a look at Twitter Feed questions so I thought I would respond to you here.

Are you still experiencing the error message with the Twitter plugin? If so, could you contact us with our support form and send your “system info” from the “support” tab inside the plugin settings pages?

To answer your question about why there are only hashtag feeds available in the Twitter plugin, in order to offer a high quality well maintained and supported free version of each plugin, we reserve some features for the paid, premium version. In this case we thought that the Twitter plugin should show hashtag feeds in the free version. We kept this as a paid feature for the other two.

    Thanks!
