Can anyone help me with inserting multiple galleries in WordPress 3.5?

In 3.4x, I used a plugin which added a checkbox on the gallery settings tab for a page/post, and you could select which images should appear in a gallery.

In 3.5, I see you can now check only certain images for a gallery, but despite checking only 1 or 2, the gallery always seems to display all the photos uploaded to a page/post. And 3.5 seems to have broken the old plugin.

Can anyone help me out with this?

Must say, so far I’m not a fan of the new media interface. First WordPress upgrade since the late 1.x versions (when I first started using it) that I’ve not really been happy with.

  • Can you replicate the problem using the default theme with all plugins deactivated?

A-ha! Your question produced some (further) experimentation, and I think I’ve figured it out….

I use Lightbox Plus for image pop-ups, and I deactivated that, and that seemed to be the problem. I then tweaked the settings a bit, and I think I found the solution.

In LB+, there is an “Other” tab in the settings. Previously, I had to check “Use For WP Gallery” to get the lightbox effect on photos in posts. It seems that with 3.5, checking that caused the problem. I unchecked it, and the lightbox effect still works, but only the photos I want are shown

    Thanks for the help!
