Multiple groups for subsites

I have checked the Github document, and it seems like there is an option to group subsites and create multiple keys. Unfortunately I can’t find more details, and wonder if you guys have any samples that I can learn from.

I have about 40 subsites in a network, and would like to split them in groups. When I tried WP MultiNetwork plugin w/ Redis Object Cache, it turned out that I cannot have activated ROC for each sub-network, and if so, the behavior was weird. For one sub-network w/o that many subsites, it was nearly dead. On the other hand, sub-networks w/ many subsites, the metrics were jumping around. I guess it is because only 1 object cache file was created for multiple sub-network. If I can split, by subsite groups, it may work properly. At least, even without WP MultiNetwork, I still would like to group subsites for object caching.
