multiple image deletion in gallery tab

  • trying to nail down so WP UI issues this week.
    is there a way to do a multiple delete in the Gallery Tab for images? i am frequently in the position of having too many images in here (partial uploads) and i end up deleting images that i don’t need one by one by one which is very tedious.
    is there a way to multiply delete or to otherwise /select/ which images i want in a gallery post?
    can i somehow put a “1” into the box next to each image and then hit insert gallery?

    /also/ how do images get added to this tab or removed from this tab?

    adding is through a multiple upload (i.e. multiply uploaded images always go to the gallery tab) and removing from this tab happens when you insert images into a gallery item in a post…?

    You can bulk delete images via the Media Library.

    i found this out messing around here a bit.
    what is the deal, you can bulk upload images and /then/ insert into a gallery in a post but you can’t bulk upload and create a gallery in a post from images in Media Library – because – well, i guess because you can only create a Gallery from within the post? i mean, the Gallery Tab is cleared when you insert them into a post and the Media Library is populated when you do a multiple upload but you have to bulk delete from Medial library and you can only create a gallery from within the Gallery Tab from within the post?

    you can’t bulk upload and create a gallery in a post from images in Media Library

    The core Gallery works by virtue of the fact that images uploaded whilst editing a Post or Page are attached to that Post or Page. A gallery is merely a display of all of the image attachments.

    i’m not sure i understand the UI based upon this then.

    i mean, i can /only/ create a Gallery from multiply uploaded images uploaded via the IMAGE UPLOAD button and if i do select /multiple/ images to upload then i can /only/ insert them as /either/ a Gallery (with ALL the images just uploaded in the gallery going into the Gallery in the post) or by inserting them one by one by one in the Media Library.

    i can’t select a /set/ of images to put into a gallery and i can’t select a set of images to just put in the post (like one after the other after the other as they would appear if i manually put them in one by one by one by clicking through all the stuff in Media Library…)

    or am i missing something that will make my life easier here?
