• I ran through the check list of things and tried to fix the issue with no avail. My main problem seems to be with content on posts.

All of my content that I write in a post is lost when I:
    save a draft
    publish a post
alternate between HTML and Visual tabs

    Other issues:
    cant add a hyperlink

Every time I try to do something… everything gets wiped out as if I never worked on it in the first place.

The good news is that media seems to be working when adding images… so is feature images. But everything else is lost.

I see some people are having similar issues but I haven’t been able to locate a fix yet other than “we’re working on fixes now”.

Anyone able to point me in a right direction?

Can you look at your server error logs?

    That smells of ModSecurity.

Thanks for the insight. I just checked my hostgator logs and there’s nothing listed. Any other suggetions?

Sorry if this is the incorrect place to post. But as of this morning whenever I write text or upload images into a new post, then ‘save draft’ the text and images disappear. Also, when I look at already published posts in draft form, there is no content showing. Would love some help please.

You seem to be having the same problem as me. Unfortunately I am yet to find a solution. There haven’t been any error logs on the server I’m using to host so I have no idea what the problem is and/or how to fix it.

While it doesn’t solve the problem, I noticed that when you go back into the draft post (which looks empty of content), if you toggle between the Text and Visual buttons you can get them to come back on screen (though it seems to bring back only the top image for some reason). I wonder if our issue is connected to having major updates in the last couple of days?

Ok so I’m not sure exactly what the issue what but I seemed to have fixed it…. for now. Going to monitor it for a day or so and see if anything changes.

in the wp-config.php file, there’s a line at the bottom of the file that says:
    define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false)

switch it to true, save, and refresh the page… it gives a bunch of lines about things that were outdated from version 4.3. I have no idea what any of them mean but after I did this I switched that same line back to false and it seemed to have fixed the issue for me.

again i have no idea what it actually did or if it really fixed anything but it seems to work for me for now.

Good detective work! Let’s hope someone from WordPress gets back to us and, using the information you’ve found, help us both out. Would dearly love to post something!

Hey, I’ve resolved my issue. With a big thanks to Jetpack staff (who I turned to in the absence of anyone helping from WordPress), I deactivated all my plugins and turned them on one by one, checking to see whether the issue had been rectified after each one. Turns out it was a week-old new advertising plugin. If that hadn’t have worked, Jetpack recommended going to the previous back-up of WordPress. I hope you can figure out your issue soon Unsunghero225. Kind regards

Glad to hear. Unfortunately I am yet to get so lucky. I’ve already got all of my plugins turned off so I’m not quire sure what the problem is. Still hoping someone from WP can provide a little guidance based on the error messages I was getting from debug mode being turned on.

Sorry to hear that. One would hope WP will offer support to you. I was looking at your error messages and copied and pasted it into Google. Loads of email threads about that particular issue, like this one might be of use?

that’s why it is a good idea to start a new forum post if you are in need of assistance.
