Multiple launches of backup

Hi,

This suggests something broken in the WordPress scheduler (which UD uses to schedule its backups). If you use the free WP Crontrol plugin, and go to the view of scheduled tasks in the Tools menu using it, what does it show? (A screenshot would be handy).

Today, The process has launched 8 backups one after the other. Some were incomplete. I deleted almost all of them.
The plugin is fine and simple to use, except this problem which is very inconfortable because i can’t rely on my backups.
Hope for an insight…

Oddly, that WP Crontrol screen doesn’t show any scheduled entries for UpdraftPlus at all. Are you on a WP Multisite install? If so, it may be that there are entries in the cron table for one of the individual sites, rather than the site that you were logged in as for that screenshot.

Nop, it is a unique site. I already have unistall, clean the option table and reinstall updraftPlus, hoping to reset the cron. But it doesn’t work. Often after a manual backup, i have a cron task for updraftPlus (send a report?). If you have an idea it will be welcomed.

Have you got any log files from these backups that I could see? That would help me to guess at what might be going on. It sounds very odd!

9 launches today with one manual click, some at the same time. Erase of all the previous backups. Although the CRON is working fine for the other plugins.

Sorry david, i am not used to it. I just changed it to make the file downloadable.

Thank you… the link is showing me one log file; is it possible to see all the log files from the several backups that ran at the same time? Then I can examine the timings and try to work out what it’s up to.

After watching again and again, i may notice a pattern: the backup contains 5 files with a greater one that are uploaded to dropbox. It seems that it’s always during the bigger file (68Mo) upload that another backup is automatically launched.

David, i just excluded the upload directory (the biggest file i was talking about) and the backup ended as expected.
It seems that during the upload, if it is not finished after a minute long, a new task is started. As the upload of 68Mo take more than a minute, a new task is started. Wish it helps.
