Hi. Luckily we back up as we always do, before doing new work, as this plugin completely wrecked my client’s website.

-This plugin deleted pages and I’m not even sure how that’s possible when all you’re dealing with is media.
-This plugin renamed menu items with random media filenames (e.g. Home > secondary15.jpg).

I like to give an opportunity to address things before dumping a bad review, so here is me letting you know what we’re seeing.

Are you sure you’re using it correctly?
This plugin is for moving from your original site to a new site.
It inherits the media’s post ID, so if the site you are moving to has the same post ID, it will be overwritten.

Yes, it is being used correctly. Even if it weren’t, it should not delete content and rename menu items.

You should do this with a new site with no content.
The first step is to move the media only.

Other content, except for the media you moved, does not inherit the ID, so the media’s ID will overwrite it and that’s that.
You should be change that move order.
1. Move the media
2. Move other content

I think the biggest problem is the method of moving other than the media you used.
It does not inherit the post ID.

@wpturnedup What solution did you end up using? I am in a similar situation where I need to transfer a Media Library to a site that is already built. I don’t want to run into the issue of overwriting existing post IDs.
