Multiple moderators

I’m researching using WordPress on larger blog/content sites where you have multiple authors and moderators to manage comment threads. Know of good write ups, use cases, have personal experiences to share on the topic? Are there plugins, themes, workflows that are particularly strong or relevant to this kind of case?
