I created a page in my default language.
I then added a translation in two other languages through the all pages/ + translation feature of polylang.

I ended up with 3 separate pages and 3 separate menu links!

    Is this how that works?

I am looking for creation of a unified page with alternate versions of the same page in other language available through a language switcher.

So for 3 languages and 4 pages there would be 4 menu links not 12.

    Is this possible in polylang?

How do you create your menu?

I have to serach through the list of pages created and check the default langiuage version for each page. Then add those to the menu. Very messy.

I am sorry. I do not understand what is the problem.

If your menu is automatically generated from all the pages of your site, then Polylang should automatically filter the menu to display only the pages in the correct language.

If you are using custom menus, then you create one menu per language and add all the pages in the correct language (it is convenient here to use the languages filter on top of your admin screen to display only the pages in the language you are working on). Once all your menus are created. Then you go in settings->languages->menus and your menus to the languages and choose if you want display the language switcher in the menu.

So yes, you need to multiply the work by 3, but it is expected when working on a site with 3 languages.

Okay I will look at language filter. At present I just use the main deafult navigation menu.

Do you know how this default menu is called from your theme?

You have to choose it in the menu settings. My default menu is the main manu.
Inside Menus, I activated main menu.

Is it in theme options or in Appearance->menus?
    Is your theme freely downloadable?

Hi, I fixed the issue and posted my solution on the other thread about the 404 error.

The theme is twenty eleven, the default theme that comes with WP. It does not have a menu selector option.

    Thanks
