Multiple Roots Support

I saw a response to a previous support question here (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/plugin-wp-family-tree-creating-multiple-trees?replies=5)
The response left me wondering what I am doing wrong. I have a family tree on my fathers side and it works perfectly. When I attempt to add parental information for say my grand-mothers parents & siblings the tree no longer displays my great-great-grandfathers but my grand-mothers parents become the root without the ability to find the original root.
Stated differently, I want my family tree to support multiple roots so I can trace maternal lineage as well. If that is possible…how? If not is it planned for the future? If so, when? If not, any objections if I work on it?
