We have a petition that is being signed by a lot of elderly people. Some have a single email address for their household, and some who don’t have email at all.

Is there a way to temporarily turn off the requirement for an email address, or to allow multiple signers to have the same email address?

    Thanks!

Thanks for your email. While I understand the situation and sympathise, I am not willing to make this an option.

It is important that petitions sent via this plugin have high integrity and are trusted. That is why I prevent things like multiple signatures from one email address.

Hint: gmail and some other mail systems allow + addresses and . addresses that appear different but come to the same email account. e.g. [email protected] will work as will [email protected] and [email protected]. These addresses will be delivered to [email protected] but will appear different to the plugin.

Additional hint: this is useful if you sign up for something to keep track if they sell your email address e.g. [email protected]
