Multiple sites using posts and pages from original site
-
Hi, I am creating a website for my business. I will be showcasing approximately 5,000 products in the form of pages and will also have a blog which will be updated daily in the form of posts. In the future I will be rolling out more websites that will be targeted towards certain consumers (e.g. a corporate discount program where employees of a certain company will log in and see the same product selection but with a discounted price). These additional sites will be sub-domains (company1.mydomain.com or company2.mydomain.com)
As you can imagine, I am looking for a way to make changes to products and my blog in one place. Since I could have up to 10 sub-domains, I don’t want to have to add a blog post or product to 10 sites 10 different times.
Does anyone have any recommendations on how to accomplish this? Is it possible to have multiple WordPress installs talking to 1 table in a database? Would it be 1 Worpdress install working with multiple sub-domains?
