Multiple smilies strange in WP 2.1

  • Hi. I’ve noticed this on several different WP 2.1 installations regardless of site or server. WP 2.1 converts text smilies into graphical smilies a bit strangely since the upgrade. It’s a bit erratic, but the most consistent problem when converting occurs if you use multiple smilies continuously, for example ?? ?? ?? ?? ??

    In WP 2.0.x, all the smilies convert just fine. In WP 2.1, every other smilie gets converted, while the rest remains as textual smilies.

  • You need to have a space between each smiley, as the translation code has changed.

    ?? ?? should work, :):) won’t.

    nope. your solution does NOT work on several different blogs. all of my blogs have spaces between the smilies and they still convert every other.
