Multiple Themes

Dear Seniors,

I am looking to have different themes for different sections of my website.

ie. News is a magazine style theme and Classifieds section is a pinterest style theme, delineated by different domain name xxx.com/news and xxx.com/classifieds

I browsed through various suggestions such as

1. the multiple sites / network of blogs style.

2. Or using plugin to switch themes.

I believe in the current context option 1 will be better right?
