Multisite?

good question – I don’t think it does!

i don’t have any experience developing for multisite, and wasn’t considering it when writing this plugin, but i am ready to learn and enable if there is interest. i will take a look and get back to you here, thanks for inquiring.

do you run multisite? i don’t have it installed (_yet_), but from what i read the plugin should work correctly as coded. if you have multisite can you try installing and testing?

I will give it a try in my dev environment. As soon as it’s possible, the power is still out in my area.

I installed WP Multisite and the plugin seems to work great. in particular:

• logging into dashboard for a specific site and visiting the plugin for a particular site only shows the users from that site
• restricting menus for users works as expected
• menu disabling works on a per user/site basis, that is when you disable menus for a user in a site, its only for that site. if the user has access to another site, their menus will remain unaffected when logged into that site

i’m open to suggestions for improving MS functionality, do you have any ideas? how do you use MS, would one user have access across multiple sites, or is it more separated than that?

the only thing i can think of for making this extra useful for multisite would some sort of bulk control for setting user menu options from the network/users page, letting you disable menus for a user across sites; let me know what you think; for now i am going to add a note the FAQ indicating the plugin functions in MS, let me know if you test and discover i missed something.

It does work. But what would make it really useful is a superadmin network menu to disable menus across the network (for all site admins). That’s what I would expect from network activation.

Still, it’s a nice plugin. For my purposes, if this could be implemented it would be a great addition to my MS tools.

ok, so just to clarify what you are suggesting:

do you want to edit the menu of all the users who are admins, across all the sites, at once? or is it that you want to edit a single user’s menus across all the sites they are admins on (ie. for that user on any site) ?

The former. If a menu is off-limits, disable for all users/all sites network-wide, nobody has access except superadmin.
