• I run a local version of WordPress with multisites. When the plugin is activated it causes a sitewide error – “Sorry, You Are Not Allowed to Access This Page”. I have to delete the plugin to gain access to my site.

I am using the latest version of WP and the plugin.

When activated, WP debug comes up with:

PHP Notice: Use of undefined constant AUTH_COOKIE – assumed ‘AUTH_COOKIE’ in …\wp-includes\pluggable.php on line 769

This error does not present when the plugin is deleted/deactivated.

Can anyone help me to get this plugin to work on my multisite installation?

    Thanks,
    Sarah

I run two websites on a multisite instance using the plugin and have no issues. Are you using the most current version of wordPress and Rootspersona?

Hi Ed, thanks for your reply. Yes, I am using the most up to date versions of both WP and plugin (as per my first post).

I have noticed a few other posts here regarding multisite activation errors, so I’m not alone. I activated it last year but wasn’t ready to use it so deactivated it, therefor I know it should work with the few plugins and theme I use. However, when activated it crashes the WP admin section rather than sites, so I don’t think it’s a clash between plugins/theme but rather something with WP itself. I downloaded a fresh plugin to test against with the same results.

I’ve just now discovered that rather than “Network Activate”, if activated directly from the site I will be using it on it doesn’t caused WP to crash. This must have been what I did last time. It still doesn’t solve the network activation issue, but at least I can now tinker around wit the plugin until I am ready to make my site live.

Now I remember why I decided not to use it. I’m running WP locally via XAMPP, but Apache crashes when uploading the GEDCOM and no matter what setting I change I can’t seem to get it to work. I will test it out on one of my live sites.
