• Im having trouble getting this to work the way I need it to work. Ive been pretty proficient with multi site WordPress install, but this domain mapping thing is new to me and Its not working the way I need it, so I need to know if Im doing it wrong, or its not possible.

3 Multisites started on WP install….

    1. website.de (main install)
    2. website.de/ukhome
    3. website.de/uksubsite

I need domain mapping as follows….

    1. website.de
    2. website.co.uk
    3. website/co.uk/subsite

The website.de and website.co.uk work fine…. but the website.co.uk/subsite isnt working. Do I need to map that full URL as a domain, or is this not possible with domain mapping? This is all being done on a local sandbox in MAMP with VHosting. VHosts are the 2 main domains, website.de and website.co.uk.

    TIA

    website/co.uk/subsite

    Do you mean website.co.uk/subsite

You can’t do that via just domain mapping. You CAN do subsite.website.co.uk, but you cannot map TO a subfolder.

But there is a solution! You would want to make a subnetwork off of website.co.uk – Look for the Multi Network plugins.

I think it wasnt working because my htaccess file was messed up….but I kinda started over before I realized that. I made the main install the website.co.uk….and then added the website.co.uk/subsite, and mapped the domain to website.de.

Now im thinking…wouldnt it work if I added another site to the multisite install, and it was website.de/subsite….it would work already, maybe with just the plugin Simple 301 Redirect in the website.de install?
