    Hi there.

Is this plugin multi-site compatible i.e. can two separate sites/domains on a WP multisite installation use this independently? Presumably, it would be activated per site and not network activated.

Relating to that – Can one site then get the pro version while the other remains on the free version?

And lastly, does the free version support international shipping?
Thanks for any details on this.
    Rob

    Hello @robaxxx,

Regarding your queries, Please find my answer below:

    1) Our plugin will work fine with Multisite WordPress configuration. You can activate the free version on one site and the premium version on another site. However, Please note, not to network activate both the plugin. As Our free and premium plugins can’t be activated together. You can activate the plugin on subsite as per use.

    2) Also, You can use our premium plugin on both of the sites. Could you please confirm what is your business requirement to use Free and premium on two different sites?

    3) Yes, the basic version of the plugin will show the International shipping rates.

Hi, thanks for the prompt reply.

    Just to clarify point 2…

I run a multisite WP instance where each site is for a separate person or client. For efficiency and security I like to use a single plugin for a single purpose and so I only want to have one Australia Post plugin installed for that purpose.

Plugins I install need to have useful free functionality and sensible paid features for sites that are successful. Many plugins have a ‘catch’ feature that ultimately makes the free version pointless, and so I spend a lot of time carefully researching and choosing what to install. e.g. International shipping rates is such a feature.

And with that in mind, the free and paid versions of any given plugin need to work separately on the same WP instance so that the decision to get a license can be made by the needs of the individual client and not the plugin.

    Thanks again!

    Hello @robaxxx,
Thanks for sharing your requirements with us.
The premium version of the plugin has all the functionality available in the free version of our plugin and some advanced options enhance the user shipping integration. You can find the difference?between free and premium here.

Our plugins are designed in a way that only premium or free can be activated at once. For example, If you have activated the free plugin and added some settings. Once you deactivate the free version and activate the premium plugin same settings and configuration will be restored.
Also, For Multisite, You would need to purchase only one license and that can be activated on the Network tab.

    Hope that explains.

Oh that’s great to know. If I can license it at network level and then it’s available to any site on the system as needed then that makes the premium version a good buy. I will definitely be testing this one.
    Thanks again.

    Hi again
Hope you don’t mind me opening this again, but it relates to the previous posts in the thread.

I’m in the process of setting up one site on my multisite with WooCommerce. I’m testing the free version of your Australia Post plugin.

I activated it at site level for the site and it looked like it was going to work.

Then I recalled you said that it should be activated at network level if I wanted to go premium and use it on any site in the multisite.

So I deactivated the plugin at site level and then activated it at Network level. But it wouldn’t let me do that unless WooCommerce is also activated (which I don’t need at Network level).

    So the question is:

If I get the premium version and want to activate it at network level, will it require that WooCommerce is activated on all subsites? Is there any way around this if it is true? I certainly don’t want to activate WooCommerce on all of the sites.

I’ll carry on and test the free one at site level until I hear back.

Thanks for any further advice on this.

    Hello @robaxxx,
Yes, WooCommerce is required to be activated on the network site to activate our ELEX Australia post plugin. The plugin is built on Woocommerce functionalities to enhance the shipping and tracking features.`

    Hope that clarifies.

    Thanks

    Thanks for the reply.

But does it also need to be activated on all of the subsites as well?

Assuming that I activate WooCommerce at the network-level site, will the subsites without WooCommerce stop working?
    Regards?

    Hello @robaxxx,

WooCommerce needs to be activated on both the network level and the subsite where the Australia Post plugin is activated.

    Hi again

I’m not getting my question across clearly.

I have understood that your plugin will not activate if WooCommerce is not activated as well. And that this needs to be at network level for the license to apply to subsites.

Most subsites will never have WooCommerce activated because they are not stores.

    This is the question:
Will those sites without WooCommerce break in any way, or will nothing happen.

    A similar question:
Can I activate WooCommerce at network level just to install the plugin and then deactivate WooCommerce again.

I can test this but it should be easier and safer to ask.

    Thanks again

    Hello @robaxxx,

Yes, You can check by adding the Woocommerce and Australia post both on the network tab and activating it. Once the License is activated, Deactivate both the plugin and activate them on your required sub-site.

    Let us know your feedback.

ok cool, I’ll note that and check it out.
