Multisite and Multi-Theme

Hi I recently tried this plugin and it’s been a while since I have seen a plugin have a measurable impact on UX.

I am just wondering in terms of how it works.
It says on the plugin page that the plugin inserts the css into the theme header.
Does the plugin modify my theme files in any way or is this added in dynamically?
