We have a multisite (main site and two subdomains), and one of the subdomains is a WooCommerce store. We can’t have WooCommerce activated on the main site or the second subdomain which is not a store. In order to license the WooCommerce add-on that we purchased, it states that licensing can only be added in the main site of a multisite. Is there any way to license the WooCommerce add-on for only the one subdomain without activating WooCommerce on the main site?

    Oh, good question. ??

On multisite installations the plugins are updated from the main site, so that’s why I require the license to be entered on the main site. If each subsite had their own license key I would not know what key to use when checking for updates.

Do you have access to edit wp-config.php to add constants? Maybe an optional constant to set the license key could be a solution here.

I do have access to the wp-config.php so if you have a suggested constant, please send that my way so I can test that.

This feature does not exist yet but I will make sure to add it so other users with similar setups won’t get stuck like this. Thank for reporting this @dtopper!
