Multisite Auto Smush Not Working

    I found that WP Smush can work when you Smush each photo manually in my multisite’s Media, however the auto smush does not work.

    I’ve installed WP Smush 2.5.3 on my multisite WordPress and under Network Settings->WP Smush, I’ve also enabled Enable Network wide settings, Automatically smush my images on upload and Resize original images. Then I goto one of my site’s dashboard->Media->Add New. After uploaded I open the file and the lightbox dialog shows WP Smush Smushing in progress... I waited for very long still showing same message. Then I refresh my Media page and the same lightbox dialog WP Smush Smushing in progress.. message is gone and replace with a WP Smush button. I click the button and able to smush manually pretty fast. But what I am looking for is the auto smush function, which is not working. Please advice and thanks.

    Hey @kenazchan,

    Auto Smush works fine on Multisite, so it’s probably related to particular setup. What hosting you’re on? Do you’ve any other site to test it out?

    I am using below spec:
    * Linode VPS
    * Ubuntu
    * Apache with Nginx reverse proxy
    * Multisite with 1,000+ sub sites (Could that be the problem?)

    Would these spot some light on the issue? Sorry that I do not have other test server to show this. Thx.
