Multisite causing post-thumbsnails not to work

    This is driving me nuts.

    For some reason having WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE == true is causing my add_theme_support('post-thumbnails') not to work. when true the post-thumbnails metabox doesn’t show, when false or commented out, the thumbnails work..

    please help me understand what’s going on!, Many many many thanks in return,
