• Hi..

I was wondering if anybody could help me. I have created a multisite where I have 2 sites dev.musacancun.com and dev.musacancun.com/es the first is the english version and the second is the spanish version. (just in case you are wondering its on dev. because there is a live site on the server)

I wanted to make a landing page and have 2 buttons on there one for spanish and the other for english.
Can you tell me if that is possible and if so how do I achieve this please?
A tutorial would be very helpful..

    Thank you in advance

    Face

  • I have never built multi-site with multiple languages, but it seems to me that you can address this by adding code to each of the sites’ header.php. Each site should have its own theme folder, presumably each one will be a child theme to the same parent theme. Let’s say you have two flags as images to allow the selection of the appropriate language. If everything about the images and links will be the same, you can have the same header.php I both child themes. If they have something different about them, you can customize each one independently.

I dont have a problem with the language side of things.. there is a great plug-in called Multi language Switcher.. I think you misunderstood my question…

I have a multi site already set up… As you know wordpress creates the homepage but I wanted a custom homepage that I want to design. On this homepage I would like nothing but the logo of the company and 2 big buttons in the middle of the page that give the user the option to pick the spanish site or the english site.

Once the user clicks on the button they are then lead to the homepage of the language they choose.

I hope that is a little clearer.

You may want to look up custom landing pages. There are plugins that will do what you are wanting.
