    Yes, the snippets for each site are stored individually in separate database tables. Additionally, if you have the plugin active on the main site, a special interface will be enabled in the network admin where you can run snippets across the entire network, or create snippets which are shared between different sites.

    Thanks for the quick response! That’s great!

    Hi, a followup question to this one – just to be clear, if it’s network activated on a multisite for code we want applied network-wide, it’s still then possible for the individual sites to ALSO have different snippets unique to those sites in force at the same time? Thank you!

    Yes, of course. In multisite mode, there are three different types of ways that snippet scan be run:

    • Network Activated – added and activated through Network Admin, runs on every site
    • Site activated – added and activated through individual subsite admins, runs only on that site.
    • Network Shared – added through Network Admin, but activated individually on sites through subsite admins

    Wonderful, it’s good to know that all of these modes can be run simultaneously without any problems!

    Is there any reason why someone might not have the ability to network share? Am I just missing something? I’m feeling like I’m missing something obvious but I’ve searched everywhere trying to find how to “network activate” but it seems I can only either Network Share or Site Activate individually. Nothing I do does anything more than Network share. There is also no instructions anywhere, just statements that say it’s possible. Please help!

    Do you have the plugin active on the main site? If so, you should have a box labeled “Allow this snippet to be activated on individual sites on the network” when editing a snippet in the Network Admin.

    I’ve ran into a curve ball today. I have several network level snippets that work well. BUT as soon as I add the first site-level snippet, all network level snippets stop working (they show as activated but have no effect). I checked for naming conflicts – none. Any thoughts on this?

    Compliments on an invaluable plugin!

    @shea Bunge:

    Yes I do have that active and I do have that checked. However, all it does it make that snippet “Network Shared”, but not “Network Activated”. I can’t find any way to make any snippet Network Activated. I understand that this should be possible, correct?
