Hi we are setting up a B2C shop at our main domain ourshop.com and a b2b shop at ourshop.com/wholesale. Both shops are small so there aren’t lots of products. But we are experiencing issues with the Flatsome theme on the wholesale site and we are getting a server error code which may be a separate issue. Our hosting company (HostingUk) have been unable to help.

Fri Oct 25 13:04:31.120534 2024] [autoindex:error] [pid 2455467] [client 103.218.27.1:0] AH01276: Cannot serve directory /home/domain/public_html/wholesale/: No matching DirectoryIndex (index.php,index.php8,index.php7,index.php5,index.perl,index.pl,index.plx,index.ppl,index.cgi,index.jsp,index.jp,index.phtml,index.shtml,index.xhtml,index.html,index.htm,index.js) found, and server-generated directory index forbidden by Options directive,

We think it may be related to the apache server settings but any advice is welcome. We’re going around in circles and seriously considering switching off the multisite and hiding the wholesale from retail customers.

  • For the Flatsome theme issue, contact the folks you purchased the theme from for help. As this is a commercial theme, we’re unfortunately unable to install it and offer you any assistance here. But the team that built and sold the theme should have no problem helping you configure and use the product you purchased from them.

And for the “autoindex:error”, you probably have a directory named wholesale on your file system (in the root of your WordPress installation), as this error message is coming directly from your web server software, and not WordPress. Multisite paths and subdomains are virtual, so you should not have the directory at all.

Thank you George. I’ve asked in many places and asked the hosting company and you are the only person who has told me the wholesale directory should not exist. Thank you ??
