• I have MultiSite up and three sites working (as sub folder directories).
And then I have an separate single WordPress site (on a different server) from which I want to export it’s database and import it into one of the existing MultiSite sites.

I can’t see how it will work. Any database guru’s have a method to achieve this type of db import?

  • Are you just trying to export / import the content from the single-site WordPress installation?

If so, you should be able to just export the site’s content like you normally would (from the Tools > Export menu), then import the WXR file that is created to your site in the Multisite install (using Tools > Import).

Patrick, that is one way to do it. Unfortunately, I’ve found that certain theme information data count is lost (that part is too detailed for discussion here). The theme has a “view counter” that is lost with the WordPress > Tools >Export Import method.

Instead, I have to go to the database, and export the SQL file.
In MultiSite, I have to import the SQL file.
That method will export/import everything. (Using phpMyAdmin)
