• As a multisite wordpress newbie,i installed wordpress-multi-site-enabler-plugin and communicated with my hosting company for the subdomains. Afterwards(i know, i m stupid :-p),i read that the plugin does not support iis.

Everything though worked fine. Mini sites appear correct, installed theme correct, created blogs.dir correct BUT, when uploading, while files are going to blogs.dit, nothing appears. Neither in the media library. Though files keep uploading in the blogs.dir.

I created a web.config file in the web root(didn’t exist before) with the recommended settings from many forums, but nothing changed (maybe file doesen’t work at all). Also, tried many suggestions from forums…

So, how can i make the minisites, take what i upload in the blogs.dir and show it? Should i delete somehow the network and reinstall it different way(though i think works fine – exept this issue)or the problem can be fixed?

Also, just found that when typing the url of an image in the blogs.dir, though it exists shows an error:
    “Τhe page cannot be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.”

From the cpanel though i can see it correctly…

    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance!

Just found a temporary solution. Uploaded in the main upload folder, and imported the url to the minisite (logo file) and worked ??

That’s not though a solution because, i need the client to be able to use upload correctly in the future.

So, still in need of assistance…

    This one? https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/wordpress-multi-site-enabler-plugin-v10/

Ugh. Okay. Really, Multisite is not that hard to install manually! And we want you to do it because it makes you familiar with where everything is.

What you really should do is start over :/ Because I have no idea what that plugin does anymore, and I’m about to go see if I can get it yanked from the repository.

    Yeap, thaat’s the one.

Totally agree. Though it was something urgent, and didnt have the previous know how to do it in wordpress.

If i startover, do i keep what i ve done in the mainsite. Are the staff there affected?

Do you have any ideas, where i can tell wp where from to fetch the images when uploading from the minisites? I mean, uploading works, but wp looks in a different spot…

Thanks very much for the response. Really aprreciated ??

    Oooh wait.

Where’s the ‘different’ spot? If it’s domain.com/files/… then it’s actually correct, and the issue is your web.config isn’t correct.

    wwwroot /wp-content /blogs.dir /2 /files /2012 /09
    is where it uploads.

    Media Library uploads at
    files/2012/09/AB-300×199.jpg
and not showing the uploaded file

My hosting co show the php.ini only, and the data is the following:

Should i ask him to change something?

    Thanks again!

    Okay! That’s not wrong!

    And? It’s not the php.ini ??
