    Hi

I would like to create a multisite wordpress which will contains about 20 websites in the future. Each website will be redirect to a specific domain using the MU Domain Mapping plugin.

Should I install wordpress at the root of my hosting or in a directory (so it doesn’t become a mess in the future)?
I know the Domain Mapping plugin doesn’t work if WordPress is not installed in the root, if I use this technique (https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory) would it work ?

What do you guys recommend ? Root or Directory ?

    Thanks

  • Install it in the root oflder from the start and avoid any of those pitfalls that might happen. When you’re going to be running it as a multi site system it makes a lot more sense to do it that way.
