    I got a problem with Meta-Slider on my Multisite-Blog!

It seems it has to do something with the SQL-numbering of the created slideshows: when I create a slideshow in a subsite(e.g.: https://fussball.tv-altoetting.de/) it works fine on the subsite-blog. But I also collect the content-flows of the subsites on the main blog(https://tv-altoetting.de) and therefore I installed the plugin “WordPress MU Sitewide Tags Pages”. This plugin simply “copies” the subsite-entry to the main blog. Also this works fine for itself even with linked pictures and videos, stored in the subsites media collection. Only when it comes to the Meta-Slider shortcode, it displays nothing: meaning in the subsite-blog it works fine, but on the main site there is only the written text, but no slideshow. Probably the main blog(or any subsite blog) has a different numbering of the created slideshows and therefore the shortcode cannot allocate the right slideshow then.
I hope I described the issue comprehensively. If not, just ask. I would be happy, if this issue is possibly fixed some day.

  • Hi there,

I can’t be sure what the issue is here but first thing to check would be that the slider ID in the shortcode is present for the site in Meta Slider.

    Thanks,
    Dave

    Hi Dave,

first of all, thanks for your reply!

You met exactly the point: the meta-slider was created on the subsite(eg. https://fussball.tv-altoetting.de) but not on the main site(https://tv-altoetting.de). It has there a slider ID(eg. [metaslider id=745]) and can be shown on posts and sites within the subsite-system by using the above shortcode.
I created the Multisite in that way, that my main blog(posts) is a collection of all sub-site-blogs(posts), realized by the plugin “WordPress MU Sitewide Tags Pages”. It works fine for all posts with simple photos and videos, that are included only in the subsites media(and not in the main sites).
But it doesn’t work for the Meta Slider, since I have not a corresponding slider in the main blogs Meta Slider. So I would have to load all pics to the main media again(while they are already on the subsite), create there the slider again and hope that Meta Slider gives it eventually the same ID: because the text of the posts (inlcuding Meta Slider shortcode) is copied by “WordPress MU Sitewide Tags Pages” exactly. Therefore it would also not work the other way round: if I create the slider on the main site and insert it on the subsite.
Anyway, it is not a reasonable procedure to reproduce the slider on several subsites or the main site: first of all the space for media is limited…well but this was not the main matter. The biggest problem is, that with the current options I would have to load up the pics again and create another slider. This is simply a waste of time – and its maybe impossible, because the authors sometimes don’t know each other, but they would have to send each other the pictures so that they can create the sliders on their subsites again…not to practicise.
Isn’t there a way for Meta Slider, to make the already created sliders in the same multisite environment(but other subsites) available on all subsites or at least on the main site – maybe with a dropdown menu?
