A multisite installation was updated to AIPWPS 5.0.0 and the following issues were found.

    1. Clicking on the dashboard “Basic Firewall” switch for all but the main site displays “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.” even with SuperAdmin privledges

    2. New sites added to a multi site are unable to enable the basic firewall. Existing sites that had the firewall enabled keep it enabled, but individual sites are unable to change the firewall status (see 1. above).

Stand alone site installations I’ve upgraded to 5.0.0 do not exhibit the Basic Firewall switch problem.

Until a fix is incorporated, I can use phpMyAdmin to modify a stored value in a table, or modify a files such as .htaccess but I don’t know where the setting is stored. Can you provide information I how I might override the setting to manually turn on the firewall?

@rhapsody348 The firewall is required to enable only on the main subsite and It will be work for all your subsites automatically. The AIOS 5.0.0 comes with this feature and the user (you) can activate the AIOS plugin network wide, not subsite-wide.

You should follow the below steps:
    * Activate the AIOS plugin network wide.?
    * Switch to your main subsite and upgrade the firewall. This firewall functionality will work for all subsites of your multisite network.

We hope it helps you. ??

I can confirm that all works well now with the 5.0.2 update. I did have AIOWPS configured as network activated originally and kept it that way.

When I navigated to the subsites the nag message about applying the .htaccess rules appeared. I noticed that this screen is displayed if ‘aiowps_temp_configs’ is in the subsite’s wp_xx_option table. I have written a script that

    1. iterates through the subsites
    2. Saves the desired ‘aio_wp_security_configs’ that I grabbed from one of the sites I setup with the desired settings
    3. deletes the ‘aiowps_temp_configs’ option, which turns off the nag screen to apply the .htaccess rules since they were applied from the main site.

    Thanks for the quick fix!

@rhapsody348 The applying .htaccess rules notice for each subsite will be removed in the next release. This notice should be appeared to main subsite of multisite.

Thanks for reporting issue and reaching out to us.
