Multisite multi domains not all on same host

  • Hey all, I have not really been following Multi site dev that much but do have a few questions. Trying to figure out if MS may be a good option for a company I contract for.

    I’m in need of doing the following:

    1) Run multiple WP sites on different domains. Some on our hosting. Some on other hosts.
    2) All sites share at least one style sheet.
    3) Limit users to specific sites.

  • (1) The domains all need to point to the location of the “primary network domain.” They are all running from the same database and can therefore not be hosted at different providers.

    (2) You can make the same theme available across your network of websites.

    (3) Go to: My Sites –> Network Admin –> Sites. Click on the site in question and go to the Users tab at the top. There you can manage the users for each site.
