    Hi all,

    I have a multisite installation running several sites on a cloud based infrastructure. I have checked all the allowances for the space and even cleared out some unused plugins and themes from the network dash, however whenever I try to upload a new theme I get

    You have used your space quota. Please delete files before uploading

    I have even got to the point where I cut this down to a child theme with just the minimal style.css in the zip file (a grand total of 5k) and it still gave me the same response.

    I then tried to install a theme from www.ads-software.com and…you’ve guessed it, no space apparently!

    I have been in touch with my hosts and they tell me they have made no changes that might affect the uploader.

    Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this and/or how to fix it?

    Thanks

  • Clarify.

    Simple: Themes are installed automagically at “My Sites->Network Admin->Themes->Add New” – upload. Quota message here?

    Complex: Install them directly to the /wp-content/themes/ directory via ftp – not the WP uploader. Quota message here?

    Simple…As I said it is a child theme I am designing – you need to put the files into a zip and upload

    Complex has never worked with child themes as it has never recognised them

    Workaround for me:

    1. Network Admin->Settings->”Site upload space”->checkbox off.

    2. Upoad theme

    3. Network Admin->Settings->”Site upload space”->checkbox on.

    (Check Site Dashboard for “(100%) Space Used” in red – mine is red, but I am pretty sure this quota is only looking in the site’s media upload folder – not the network plugins/themes folders.)

    That’s got it!

    Many thanks
