• I’ve enabled this plugin (using CAS logins) at the multisite level. Works great.

But I want to be able to set the individual sites to have different default users (while maintaining the CAS settings). When I go to uncheck the “Override individual site settings with the settings below” option, I can no l longer save the settings. Everything just grays out.

Do I have to enable the plugin on each individual site to get this to work?

You should be able to do this without using the “Override individual site settings” option (which, as you discovered, completely ignores any multisite settings).

If you have Authorizer network-activated, then you can add specific users to the Approved List on individual subsites, and they will appear only on those subsites. Any users you add to the Approved List in Authorizer Multisite Settings will appear in all sites.

Ah interesting. Thank you for the response.

But is there a method for any random new user? They authenticate against my SSO service, but on one site I want them to be part of the custom “Traveler” group, and on another the “Blue” group. Or would I have to make those group permissions for Subscriber to make it work?

Hm yeah, if you wanted to automatically grant a different default role on different subsites, you’d have to use the “Override individual site settings” toggle and configure the sites independently.

Alternatively, you can use the same default role on all sites (so you can keep using the multisite Authorizer settings), and then assign that role different groups on different subsites using whatever 3rd party grouping/permissions plugin you might be using. Hopefully that’s an option, seems easier that way!
