• Hi gang,

    Been using WP for a while now in a single site install and thumps up all round. I have a client who wants me to create a site like this;

    https://www.mysite.com/ (main site and welcome etc)
    https://www.mysite.com/site1
    https://www.mysite.com/site2
    https://www.mysite.com/site3

    I am aware of multisite but don’t think its what I need because of the following;

    The main domain is the welcome pages for the domain.
    Each of the subsites needs to take the config from the base – ie. content types, settings, pages, themes etc but will have different content.

    I’ve looked at multisite and its seems that I would need to configure each site individually rather than just set up the base config and lets all the sites use this. e.g If I added a new content type to the base, all the subsites would also have this option automatically.

    I’d be quite happy to develop this all in php but want to use WP backend powers.

    Can anyone advise? Ask me as many questions as you need ??

    Thanks
    Simon

    Yeah, MultiSite doesn’t do that.

    Why not use categories to organize things, instead of multiple sites?

    Thanks Ipstenu – don’t know about categories so will have a read up.

    Will post if I have some questions.
