Multisite Signup Form Modification Issues

Hi, I am working on upgrading an existing registration plugin (Users Registration Aide) to multisite, however documentation of the entire data and code flow is somewhat sketchy. The current issue at hand is for the password option as my random password filter is not overriding the default random password generator. To move forward, I wonder if anyone could point me in the right direction so I can include this, and all of the features of the process into the multisite version. If there is any documentation of a step by step process or workflow for the entire process of signing up and activating new users and blogs it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
