• We run a multisite installation with approx 70 sub-blogs. We are having a very strange issue where one or two of the blog home pages (seemingly randomly) won’t pull in the posts specified in the template (a mixture of different CPTs).

If we create a specific template for this page (with EXACTLY the same code) and apply it to a static page and set it the home page, it works fine.

Has anyone else encountered this? It seems totally random and makes no sense whatsoever.

They’re using the same theme and plugins?

Is the working template 100% the same as the broken? If not, what’s different? Is there perhaps an if/then check in there that could throw this off?

    Identical. Same theme, same plugins.

I’m using a front-page.php template that works for 99% of the sites but there are two which need the Reading settings changing from ‘Your latest posts’ to ‘A static page’.

    Then it works.

    Weird.

That… is weird. Can you share the code for that page? Maybe put it on gist or pastebin?

I’m going to bang on that a little… I’ve had an issue where one of my sites wouldn’t show the latest posts correctly for some reason. Wonder if it’s related (and I’m trying to remember how I fixed it…)
