Multisite sub-domains getting redirected

  • *I have searched for threads on similar issues in this group before posting this, but couldn’t find any*

    So I have been using WP Multisite on several domains till now without any issues, but the recent installation brought up a weird problem

    I have set up the wildcard DNS entry and everything, but when I create sub-domains on my multisite, they resolve to the main domain on the server. I am using a dedicated server for this and even the main domain of this server is a multisite installation that works just fine.

    I have double checked the config file and the .htaccess to make sure that I am using the right code as provided by WP during the installation

    Please advise on what else might be going wrong here
