• I’ve installed the multisite with the subdirectories option everything works ok but in the main navigation menu where the static home page link is listed it shows me two links/buttons although in html source code it’s only one link.
    first site: https://www.mysite.com/
    second site: https://www.mysite.com/uae/
On both subsites in the main menu I get the home link to the second subsite and that is pretty annoying since I use sprite images for styling the menu.
How can I get rid of the link to the second subsite?

Can you share your real links?

    I rather not…
Any other clarifications I could give?

Not really cause I’m having a devil of a time visualizing what you’re saying…

WordPress MultSite doesn’t add in any extra links to your subdirs, so at best I can speculate you have a messed up menu.

hmm… let’s give it another try

I have a site that initially was in english only
I had to add arabic lang too
I reinstalled wordpress and activated the multsite option
    I chosed the sub-directories option

The first site (id 1) is the english version with the path /
The second one(id 2) is the arabic version with the path /uae/

When I am on the english version/id1, in my custom navigation menu I have the page I’ve set as static page – front page which I’ve chosen from the box Pages to be added to menu as the first link in my menu along with all the other pages.

I save the menu, chose it as Primary Navigation and when I refresh the site, in front of my link/button for the above described home page it appears another link to the home page/static page/front page for my other subsite/id2/path /uae/.
If I look at the source code with the web developer addon for firefox there is only one “li” containing one “a href..” and no other sign of the other “li” or “a href…” which will lead to the other subsite

    <nav id="access" role="navigation">
            <ul id="menu-ar" class="menu"><li id="menu-item-364" class="menu-item menu-item-type-post_type menu-item-364"><a title="About us" href="h

No idea really. multisite does not stuff links in the menu areas.

plugins might thogh, so turn ’em all off.

    there are only 2 plugins:
Maintenance Mode version 5.4 which is deactivated
    WordPress Inporter active
    no other plugin
here is a picture with the mouse over the 2 links one “invisible”, since I removed the css sprite code for the menu, that leads to the second subsite and one visible for the static front page of the current subsite

try a different theme. do you get the same results?

Yeah, that’s definitely a theme issue.
