Multisite subdomain not working

Hi lgndryhr, this may be of some help.

1.) Were you able to access it before you enabled multisite?

2.) If you were, then what plugins or themes do you have installed.

3.) What do you mean by “the original site works”?

I was never able to access any subdomain I create.

I have https://intranet and created a subdomain multisite yesterday from that wordpress. I am trying to create now https://projects.intranet, but I cannot access its dashboard or webpage. I can still access https://intranet though.

My current wordpress site works just fine. The new site I created using multisite does not.

What type of error is displayed when you try to access the admin panel?

Webpage not available. for https://projects.intranet/wp-admin, but not for https://intranet/wp-admin or network admin dashboard.

So a browser error saying that it can’t show the domain?

Have you added the correct DNS record to your domain?

I cannot access https://projects.intranet or its dashboard, but can access https://intranet, its dashboard, and network admin dashboard. It just says webpage unavailable.

I added to my DNS a wildcard, but read IIS doesn’t handle that well so added projects.intranet to my dns with the same IP as intranet. Still not working. Is there something I need to bind in IIS?

To touch back on that… You haven’t done this right, but I have no idea how it works on IIS.

I normally say “Add it on your nameservers.”

Could it be that your host does not support wildcard additions..I use 1and1 and I know that they dont so I ended up with
https://intranet/projects instead of https://projects.intranet
You could ask them or try my setup and see what happens.
