• Hello,

I moved a multisite to a new server. The primary website is working, as is the wp-admin for the subdomain website, the pages as well.

The issue is that the primary page of the subdomain website redirects to /cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi.

The .htaccess file is copy and pasted directly from Network set-up, as are my additions to the wp-config.php.

My original install was with 3.7.1. I manually upgraded wordpress to the latest version. I had everything working on localhost, including the subdomain primary page.

I am guessing it has to do with the server settings? Any ideas on what might be going wrong?

    Thanks,
    Midori

That means your server isn’t set up right for subdomains. You’re using cPanel, it sounds like, so on the cpanel page for subdomains, make sure the new subdomain is pointing to /public_html/ and not /public_html/subdomain

    Thank you for your response.

We have a wildcard redirect setup (ie. *.nunasi.com) pointing to the ‘/public_html/’.

The specific pages of the subdomain site are working, just not the primary page. I can go to directors.nunasi.com/wp-admin or directors.nunasi.com/about, but directos.nunasi.com redirects to /cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi.

(As a side note, this is set-up on a development server, with the hosts file redirecting the URL so that we can test with the correct domain name.)
