    Hi there,

We have a multisite running with subdirectories. Here we are using the same GTM tag on all the subsites. As of right now we have to copy/paste the same settings on all the sites. To make this easier for multisite owner I would suggest the following:

    1) Add a network settings page with the general settings (GTM ID and placement). Here you would be able to define settings for across the multisite, if the plugin is network activated
    2) The normal site specific settings page is now able to override these settings but defaulting to the gloabl multisite settings. Here it’s also possible to either to disable GTM on that site or change the GTM ID to another one.

If you think that this would fit nicely in terms with how you would like this plugin to work I would gladly start putting some effort in making this feature for the plugin.

    Hi Compute,

    Thanks for sharing your idea.
I have to say I like it but lets think about it a bit more deeply.

What if a multsite owner allows other users to register and create blogs? In that case it would be necessary to allow the network owner to define it’s own GTM container ID and let the user to enter the site specific GTM, right? In that case we should also have an option on the network setting screen to allow network owner to decide: site level ID should override or extend the container ID?

You are of course welcome to contribute to the source using the GitHub repo:

    Thanks,

Cool! I might contribute in minor patches in the nearest future and create an issue for the multisite feature.
