• I am new to the network concept of wp although I have been around ‘regular’ wp for a few years. For several reasons I wanted to get my feet wet with the multi site version. So I jumped off the cliff and only fell part way down.

I had one website/blog and had just added another on a subdomain. No content yet on the new one so I didn’t bother to backup that one. Anyway, I installed the multi site wp according to the directions at https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Create_A_Network and I think I did every thing right.

My existing blog needed to update the permalinks. After that everything was back to normal there. In the back office area I can see the new Network Admin stuff and I can select from three blogs, the existing one and two that I just created. For one of them I created a subdomain first, for the other I let wp create the subdomain. (At least I think that’s what happened.)

However, There is no blog or wp at the subdomain locations. I just see the server’s default page as though there is no valid website at that address. In the back office I can click on the ‘dashboard’ link for either of the two new blogs and it gives me a 404 error page.

I double checked the database for the new records and they seem to be correct. It seems like the multi site install was complete yet there is no dashboard or new site as the back office seems to indicate.

    Any help? …anyone?
