Hi i haven’t installed your plugin yet wanted to ask a question first if thats ok ??

I run a travel site which is multisite setup as our site is that big that having everything on a single installation just isn’t possible, we use analytics set up to count all sub domains of our travel network as a single site and to index all content as a single site rather than multiple, would we be able to use your plugin to count the urls from all our subs into the one xml file?

i.e. one xml including all the addresses to all our xml files and to have them counted as local not external

  • Hi, at this point this is not possible in one sitemap automatically (it’s on the todo list) but what you can do is this: After installing and activating the plugin Network wide, go to the main sites Settings > Reading admin page and add each subsite’s sitemap index URL to the field at “Include custom XML Sitemaps”. This will make every subdomain’s sitemap appear in the main sitemap index so Googlebot will be able to browse through to each one.

    Notes:
    1. Be aware that you need to be the verified owner of each subdomain of your network, otherwise Google will start throwing errors.
    2. After creating a new sub-domain, you’ll have to come back to Settings > Reading and add the new sitemap URL here manually… for now at least ??
