Multisites that feed content to main blog?

I have this plugin running great! Next, can I control the length of the post that is fed to the main site? I’d like to offer a few lines of text along with the header and then a page break that sends the reader to the subdomain?
I’d like to do this automatically without having to use the more tag manually.

Then change the theme on the main site to use excerpts.
