• While I am not opposed to premium plugins, I am opposed to plugins that disguise themselves as free. Plugins that require purchases to use should be transparent about that. It is very inconvenient to set up a new plugin, only to find out that you cannot use it. This plugin does not have a disclaimer that it is a commercial plugin with paid features. The only potential indicator that this is not free is that, at the very bottom of the description, it says you need an API key to use it. However, not every API key costs money, so that is still not clear.

This plugin will only let you use one font for free, which is helpful if you are considering purchasing it. It’s not an unreasonable price. It’s about $10 for one site to buy a lifetime license, $30 for 10 sites, and $50 for unlimited sites. But with every plugin charging money these days, it adds up very quickly. At this time, I don’t need this plugin enough to add yet another premium to my WordPress.

Because I could only use one font, I didn’t think it was worth it to test the plugin. I usually use the Custom Fonts plugin because it is free and easy to use, but it sometimes does not load properly in the Full Site Editor, so I thought I would try a new one.

I don’t really like to leave reviews on things I haven’t fully tried, but I think it’s worth letting people know to only download this if they are looking for a premium plugin. If the plugin was more transparent about requiring a purchase, I may have considered it because I do think that it’s worth supporting small developers. But small developers also have to remember not to mislead small businesses and freelancers. Respect needs to go both ways.
