    Hi, Daniel!

Glad you like how we have unified commenting and forums in one system. Regarding inline commenting, are you wanting Muut to be the thing that is used for the inline commenting? Or simply having Muut on the page as well as the current inline commenting system. If so, I’m not actually seeing it broken—I can use Muut at the bottom for the article, and the other commenting system inline.

That said, I realized perhaps you might actually mean that you want the feature to be able to use Muut for the inline commenting as well as the full post… Currently the plugin works to add a thread of comments to a given post, replacing the default WP commenting system; out of the box it doesn’t automatically support more customized solutions, like inline commenting. A savvy developer might be able to figure out a customized embed code setup that would support it, but not something we currently feature at our end.

Hope that clears things up, let me know if I’m misunderstanding you!

    Hi Paul,

Thank you for your prompt response. You hit the nail. I was looking to see if I could inline comments with Muut, but inline comments works with word press plugins and I don’t know if there is a way to use it with Muut.

It is a shame but, both would work together greatly. I see the value in inline comments to create a conversation on the spot in the article, and make it more interactive. At the same time, Muut allows comments to become a giant ongoing conversation with the community with a central hub for comment junkies.

I will have to decide witch of both plugins I will have to use. By any chance, is there a way to use wordpress comments and send them automatically to my muut forum without having to use the muut plugging? ??

Tangential comment: for some reason the embed code provided by my muut forum leaves a big white gap in between my navigation bar and the embed itself. https://www.calgarianvanguard.com/?page_id=322

    My pleasure!

I’m not sure I understand—do you mean use the WordPress system for input, and then generate the Muut content behind the scenes the match? If so, the short answer is no. Since it is an embedded system, the Muut client is paramount to the functionality.

Regarding the space on the forum page, it looks like it thinks there are a bunch of paragraphs within the page content that it is creating and then allocating space to. You could probably use CSS on your end (you can edit it right in the theme’s _style.css_ file) to hide it, or otherwise creating a template override for the forum page might be the proper solution to remove page content from displaying. You can see the documentation for the WordPress plugin for template overrides here.

    Hope that helps!
