    Hi Everyone,

I am very new to this and would really appreciate some help. I apologies in advance if this is a silly question but I’m completely lost. I’ve searched the forums and cannot find any issues that are similar to this, and I’ve searched on Google and I can’t seem to find any answer as to what’s wrong with my WordPress.

So I have recently installed WordPress for my website. The version I am running is version 4.9.6.

I installed this via my hosting company using “Softaculous Apps Installer”. To my knowledge this transferred my domain to WordPress so therefore I assume that in relation to hosting and domains I have everything in order.

I am in the middle of trying to index my website on Google. I have tried to do this various ways (but keep failing). I can’t verify the site using any of the following options:
    1) HTML Tag
    2) Domain Name Provider
    3) Google Analytics

My main issues is that of course I want to index on Google, but to do this, according to all the documentation I have read says that on my WordPress I should see on the top left hand corner a “My Sites” option, which will allow me then to manage my Domain (galro.ie) which should then allow me to verify my site with Google using the “Domain Name provider” or “Google Analytics” option set out by Google – but my admin interface looks different to that of screen shots and youtube videos I’ve watched when searching for this.

Can someone please advise me what I’m doing wrong here – when I look on the left hand corner all I see is my actual domain name, but the only option I have by clicking on this is view the site or go to the dashboard.

Apologies again if this is a silly question.

    Many thanks

    Emma

Hello. I do not use WP right now but want to add comment.
Google Analytics is the last step and I suppose first we are talking about Search console.
Usually all webmasters use 2 ways – file or Google code tag.
Please check this topic about adding the correct code in WP.
If something failed try to download and to copy the file for verification.

    Hi there,

I did not realise that I had to install a plug in for this. I have just used this and hopefully it seems to have worked! Thanks so much for your help!

    Many thanks

    Emma
