My admin user is the only one that works!!!

  • This is REALLY weird. This is the second blog that I have installed on a host instead of using a hosted wordpress.com blog. I was able to successfully add 2 admin users and 1 contributor to my first one.. and now I am having MAJOR issues with my second.

    I have the admin username and password that my one click install gave me. I can log in with that no problems. So while i was logged in with that, i created a second admin using my OWN username and password..

    So then when i log out of admin and try to log in using the newly created admin username, it will not let me! It keeps saying invalid username!!

    I am confused.. I dont know why this is happening, but its really getting under my skin.

    The other weird thing is, when i uploaded the content from my wordpress.com blog, it asked me which user i wanted those posts to be from.. I chose my username not the admin one.. and it did it!! So it shows that MY username created all of those posts, but i cant create another because I cant log in

  • I’ve had user login problems too. But I got round it by…
    (1) login as the admin
    (2) Goto “Authors & Users” and then EDIT the user you want
    (3) Enter the desired password in the two boxes at the foot of the page
    (4) Update User
    …and then logout and try logging in as the user with this password.
    I’ve had to do this with every user I create – something’s not working right with the initial account setup, but forcing a password reset seems to solve it.

    i have tried this a bunch of these thing.s.. i tried logging out and back in, re-applying the password, closing teh entire page and re-opening..

    ugh.. idont know what to do!! I would like to be my own user, I tried deleting and re-creating, i tried making an entirely DIFFERENT name.. NOTHING WORKS
