My Avatar is applying to everyone?

Same problem. running WP 4.1 and plugin v1.9.17.

I hope there’s a fix for this. Is it just a setting? When I choose any of the built-in avatars it works as expected but not when I upload a custom one. Has anyone found the problem? Or maybe an alternative plugin that works?!
