When I save a backup on FTP, it completes successfully, but when I try to download the archives, they are all empty (0 bytes)
When testing an FTP connection, the plugin confirms that it has access to the folder and can write files to it.
But if I save a backup to my Google drive, then everything is ok. I see files in archives and can download them

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Are you using a Mac?

If so can you stop your Mac from automatically unzipping downloads: https://www.wonderplugin.com/wordpress-tutorials/how-to-stop-safari-from-automatically-unzip-downloaded-zip-files/

No, I’m on Windows. But the problem is not in unzipping. Archives are created empty or cannot be saved to FTP. I’m not sure

Are you downloading the files straight from your FTP or through the UpdraftPlus interface.

Can you send me the log for an FTP backup and post it with a tool such as pastebin.com?

    Who is your FTP provider?

I downloaded it through the UpdraftPlus interface, but in FTP I see 0 bytes size as well

    Who is your FTP provider?

    I’m using simply.com hosting
For a long time, backups were created correctly, but a few months ago something happened and they stopped saving. The disk space on the server is used only by 30%, so the reason is not in it.

Apologies for the delay over the weekend.

Can you turn the debug off in the settings tab and run another backup and post the log?

    Hello,

Thank you for the log file, may I ask if the folder that you are using to save your backups via FTP is different to that of your wp-content / updraft folder on your website?

    Thread Starter dandelion89

    (@dandelion89)

I use wp-content/updraft folder to store backups https://prnt.sc/NYV7RCzKLiO9
Also you can see on the screenshot that archives are created but their size is 0 bytes

    Hello,

If I understand correctly, you are trying to save backups to the wp-content / updraft folder.

You can disconnect the FTP storage location from UpdraftPlus since you have the Delete local backups setting unchecked in UpdraftPlus >> Settings >> Show expert settings.

This setting means that by default the backups will already be saved to that location.

    Thread Starter dandelion89

    (@dandelion89)

ok, but i don’t think the problem is in the location. As you can see in my previous screenshot – the backup archives are created in the correct location, but the files are not added to them. The log file says that the files are added successfully, but this is not true

    Hello,

Thank you for your reply, I understand your point about the location not being the issue. To help isolate this, could you try temporarily disabling the FTP connection on the UpdraftPlus >> Settings tab? This would help us see if the issue is related to the FTP upload process.

Next could you run a manual backup by clicking the Backup Now button on the Backup / Restore tab. Please could you then share the log file via pastebin.com or similar?

    (@dandelion89)

    Yes, that helped https://prnt.sc/cC70ZS37Hr5T
You were right! But what the problem with FTP? Could it be a SSL problem?

When you say you are backing up to FTP, are you backing up to the your server but entering your FTP details in the settings tab?. If so, do not do this just go to the Setting >> show expert settings and uncheck the option to “delete local backups.

Backing up to your server, does not require you to enter any settings. This is the default location.

    (@dandelion89)

The “delete local backups” option has always been disabled. Okay, I’ll leave the settings as they are now.
    Thank you!
